Trying to recap the weekend of Fitbloggin' 13 has been hard to wrap my brain around. There are so many events packed into such a short time span, I am extra thankful for the photos to help me remember and embrace it all. It was an amazing weekend full of motivation, inspiration, networking and new friends.
This was my dining room table Thursday morning. (The day I was leaving to drive to Portland) I am a visual person and seeing it all laid out helped me to not forget anything. Since I was driving down, I was not forced to scale down my packing and definitely over packed.
The conference was held at The Nines Hotel in downtown Portland. The rooms were simply beautiful. I found myself saying over and over that I wanted to live there. The lack of a kitchen might prove disastrous for my business. :)
After checking into the room, I finally got to meet these two beautiful ladies in real life. We have been friends online for quite some time. Caroline Calcote - My Fascinating Life and Mindy Artze - Mindy's Fitness Journey. Mindy and I roomed together and she was a fabulous roommate. Even when I stumbled in a little tipsy the last night in town and woke her up with my gibberish.
After checking in and meeting my new roomie, we went downstairs for a drink before the evening welcome mixer.
The Fitbloggin' sponsors were incredibly generous and there was A LOT of swag throughout the weekend.
We decorated our badges and from there we were off and running. The atmosphere felt familiar and comfortable. You just knew that you were immediately in the presence of friends, when in reality you were in a sea of strangers. (Or at least I was)
The night was filled with "Ice Breaker" activities, lots of laughs and even a little dancing... The Cha Cha Slide, The Cupid Shuffle and even The Wobble. I draw the line at the Macarena. I'm pretty sure there are pictures and video of said dancing. My stiff white girl moves leave a lot to be desired on the dance floor. But hey, it was a lot of fun!
By the end of the first night, there were already a lot of great friendships forged. This picture is of some of my favorite new blogger friends. Check out their pages.

Breakfast Day 2 and there was no shortage of my favorite thing in the whole world. BACON!!
JumpSport Trampolines had a 20 plank-to-push-up challenge going on. If you completed it, you got a blender bottle. Challenge accepted!
After breakfast, I wandered around the expo and talked to all the vendors, networked and picked up a ton more swag.
The day flew right by and before I knew it, it was time for lunch and a fashion show.
Proof that bloggers photograph everything... Especially food! Thanks to Carrie of Family, Fitness, Food for the photo.
Free hugs were in abundance at the conference. There was no shortage of silliness either. I think we look pretty awesome. Mindy, Carrie, Tammy, Kat, Shannon
Day 2 we sat in on some very informative sessions. This particular session was "Get Down to Business: Building your blog through organic SEO and image optimization" By Nicole Bullock. I swear I am not sleeping. She had my undivided attention.
We had some free time to get out and explore the city a little bit and grab a bite to eat before coming back for the evening Ignite Fitness Keynote Speakers. We finished the night off with a drink on the rooftop bar of our hotel.
Saturday Morning - Day 3 - brought about a morning of fitness.
I overslept just a little but managed to make it to the second half of the trampoline class. It was a lot of fun and a killer workout.
After the JumpSport trampoline class. We headed straight into a CrossFit wod hosted by Reebok. Thanks Reebok for all the awesome pairs of Nano 2.0
After the classes, we all got showered and headed out for some more Portland exploring. I love Portland. I have been there several times over the last few months.
My friend from home took the train down and we did some more exploring around town. We hit up the market, and some of my favorite shops and restaurants.
If you visit Portland, you absolutely must go to the Portland City Grill. It is on the 30th floor and overlooks the whole city. Amazing views and amazing food.
Sunday before I left, I went back to Ever True Tattoo to get this beauty. It is an infinity symbol with the word "Strength" in it. If you go there, ask for Jesse. He did the skull on my forearm also.
I'm getting so far off track, as most of my posts usually do. I'm sure I have mixed up details and timelines throughout this post but the fact remains that I had an incredible time and met a lot of people I would not have otherwise had the opportunity to meet. Some of them I knew from their online presence, some of them were brand new to me. I can say without a doubt that I made some lasting memories and new friendships. Going into FitBloggin' I thought it would be all about the sessions and learning new development ideas for my blog, but it turns out it was much more about the people and the relationships. There is a strong sense of solidarity among us bloggers. It is a world full of passion, strength, conviction, tenacity, intensity, love, heart, triumph, defeat... So many different attributes wrapped into one little corner of cyberspace. I can't wait to do it all again next year. I can't wait to check in with the friends I have already made and to make new friends along the way. It was an amazing experience, shared with some amazing people. Here's to FitBloggin 14'

Also, a very special thanks to my friend Rich from All is Well - Inspire. Your support is much appreciated and your mission is crucial. Check out this backpack campaign to raise backpacks for the homeless and also children of disadvantaged homes.
I am taking part in this campaign and attempting to collect as many new or gently used backpacks as I can. Will you join me?
Here's how to get involved?
1. SHARE this post and help spread the message.
2. You can help collect backpacks in your community from friends, co-workers, etc. School just got out, so that should be a great opportunity to collect some gently used packs.
3. After collecting, you and a team of friends can go to a local shelter or a homeless community and donate backpacks. Just keep track of how many you collected so we can know if we reached our goal of 1000.
4. You can mail the backpacks to Rich in Baltimore, Maryland he will do the distribution on your behalf

Last, but certainly not least, I would like to thank Chosen Foods for their sponsorship of this trip to FitBloggin 13 as well. Many of you have already seen my numerous posts about how obsessed I am with their Avocado Oil. I use it every day... EVERY DAY! I love supporting products that I believe in and I love it when those products support me as well. If you haven't tried it yet, I suggest you do so immediately. You can read a review I did on their products - HERE
